LED Parking Lot Lights are usually mounted on poles or overbuilding walls to illuminate a parking lot area or a roadway. Among other considerations, it is important to notice that LED street light fixtures are installed outdoors and need to withstand wind, rain, heat, UV and other stresses. Installing LED Parking Lot Lights

LED Parking Lot Lights operate on 110, 220, 277 and up to 480VAC. Most of the street lights that we sell can operate between 110 and 277VAC or 200-480VAC. If you are not sure, your electrician must check the voltage supplied before ordering.

If you are replacing existing HID parking lot lights, is a matter of taking down the existing fixture and installing the LED parking lot light in its place using a slipfitter that will slide to the existing tenon or bullhorn. These street lights can easily be converted to LED area lights by using the correct bracket. We supply U-shape brackets, yoke, direct-mount and slipfitter.

HID Street Lights Vs. LED Parking Lot Lights

For your reference, if you are replacing existing HID parking lot lights we have included in the image and below the SKU corresponding to the Area Light Fixture, the approximate equivalent in watts compared to a Metal Halide bulb. You will find that according to the documentation HID produce 3 times more initial lumens than what we suggest to replace with LED, but HID decay pretty fast and are omnidirectional, while LED parking lot lights will maintain their same brightness typically for more than 70,000 hours. On the other hand, LED street lights direct the light towards where it's needed, each LED having its proper optics.

Adding Photocell Control to your Parking Lot Lights

Parking Lot Lights can be controlled via a timer, but that will require adjusting the timer every 1-2 months to pair with the changes in sunrise and sunset. Adding a photocell will turn on the street light at dusk and turn it off at dawn, no matter the season.

Adding a photocell to your lights can be done in two different ways. One easy and practical way is to install the push and twist photocell to photocell base equipped street lights and the other is by using a photocell on the junction box from where one or several led parking lot lights may be powered. If using this method, be careful to install the photocell so it will not "see" the light being powered or it will cycle on-off and avoid pointing it to direct sunlight or it will not last too long.
